Tzedakah

May/June Tzedakah - International Rescue Committee

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives.  At work in over 40 countries and 22 U.S. cities to restore safety, dignity and hope, the IRC leads the way from harm to home.
 
The tzedakah box is located in the lobby.

 

 Donation Center at TJM

You may have noticed the collection baskets in the lobby when you enter and exit the building.  These baskets are used to collect:

  • Kosher food for the Ark
  • Non-perishable food and toiletries for A Just Harvest and for The Niles Township Food Pantry
  • Magazines for the Hines VA Hospital

Oklahoma City Tornado

In response to the devastating tornado that struck Oklahoma City on May 20, 2013, the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) is collecting donations through their General Disaster Relief Fund.  The URJ will allocate funding received to agencies on the ground that are best equipped to respond to this disaster.
